Barcelona and Granada Share Thrilling 2-2 Draw
In a historic La Liga showdown, 16-year-old sensation Lamine Yamal stole the spotlight, setting a new record as the league’s youngest scorer, while Barcelona and Granada played out an exhilarating 2-2 draw.
The ninth round of La Liga concluded with an exhilarating 2-2 draw between Barcelona and Granada on Sunday. The home team took the lead with a brace from Bryan Zaragoza, while Lamine Yamal and Sergi Roberto secured the equalizer for the Catalan giants.
A Thrilling Night of Football
The night had it all. Granada shocked Barcelona with a goal from Bryan Zaragoza just 17 seconds into the game, followed by another strike to complete his brace in the 29th minute. Instead of being disheartened, Barcelona took charge of the game. Despite losing Jules Koundé to injury late in the first half, Lamine Yamal added another remarkable chapter to his short career. The Barcelona player scored in the 45+1 minute, becoming, at the age of 16 years and 87 days, the youngest scorer in the entire history of La Liga.
A Remarkable Ending
The final moments were nothing short of incredible. Sergi Roberto equalized with just 5 minutes remaining on the clock. In the 87th minute, Zaragoza came close to securing a hat-trick, but the goalpost denied him. In the 90+3 minute, VAR ruled out a goal by João Félix for an offside position by Ferran Torres.
There was no time for more drama, and Barcelona dropped two points against a resilient Granada side that has now gone four games without defeat against the Blaugranas.
Lamine Yamal Sets La Liga Record as Youngest Scorer
Lamine Yamal, a winger for Barcelona, has etched his name into the history books of Spanish football as the youngest goal scorer in La Liga. He achieved this milestone by finding the net against Granada at the age of 16 years and 87 days.
Breaking Records
Yamal‘s goal, which contributed to a 2-1 lead at halftime in the match at Nuevo Los Cármenes, surpasses the previous record held by Cameroonian player Fabrice Olinga. Olinga scored for Malaga in 2012 at the age of 16 years and 98 days against Celta Vigo.
A Rising Star in Barcelona
Lamine Yamal made his debut for Barcelona‘s first team on April 29th, and in the current season, he has featured in all of La Liga EA Sports matches, starting in five of them.
Notable names who followed Yamal in the record books include Iker Muniain, who scored for Athletic Bilbao at 16 years and 289 days; Ansu Fati, who found the net for Barcelona at 16 years and 304 days; and Xisco Nadal, who netted for Villarreal at 16 years and 353 days.

AC Milan vs Frosinone Prediction
AC Milan are currently 3rd in the league, and have won only one of their last five league games. They find themselves six points behind league leaders Inter Milan. It has been a season of inconsistency for the club, with their current form not doing manager Stefano Pioli any favours. The 37-year old Olivier Giroud continues to lead the line admirably, and has proven to be a surprisingly dependable goalkeeping option if needed as well. However, Giroud is at an age where dependency on him should be lessening, but in AC Milan’s case, it seems to have increased this season.
Frosinone, on the other hand, are 10th in the league, and have won two of their last five league games. Argentine winger Matias Soule has proven to be one of the best young players in the league so far, and parent club Juventus will be keeping a keen eye on his development. It has been suggested that Juventus could recall the 20-year old after an excellent start to his league campaign.
AC Milan need to get back to winning ways, and should emerge victorious here.
Prediction: AC Milan 2-0 Frosinone
